Christmas came early for about 500 Lil Wayne fans this week. According to Billboard magazine, Amazon.com accidentally shipped out several hundred copies of the long-delayed Rebirth to customers who had preordered it.
Fans have been waiting for Wayne’s upcoming album a longtime now, as its release has been repeatedly delayed by the rapper’s record label, Universal Motown. The release date is now February 1st — the sixth time it has been changed.
But some lucky fans don’t have to wait anymore. Apparently Amazon didn’t get the word about the street-date change and accidentally mailed out about 500 copies of the album. And considering some sources are saying the album was pulled to be worked on some more, the folks who got it early could have a collector’s item on their hands.

For Lil Wayne himself, all the publicity can’t hurt. The 27 year-old rap phenom, born Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., pleaded guilty in October to attempted criminal possession of a weapon and could face a year in prison when he is sentenced in February.
